Phongsali Pronvince

Phongsali Province is the located in the top north of Lao the main district is 1500 meter from the sea level, surrounded by the mountains fascinated by Nam Ou river, and distictive hill tribes

 

Program: 02 night/03 day

Day01.

Start trekking, from Ban Papao to Ban Kokjiew about 40 minutes, then walk up the mountain to Ban Phusethi about 05 hours. Have dinner and overnight there

 

Day02. From Ban Phusetthi start walking to Ban Pangsombath about 04 hours and then to Ban Kopainoy. Overnight there

 

Day03. Walking down the mountain to Ban Phutaen about 04 hours and then to road 02 hours. Then take a drive back to Luangprabang.

Program: 04 nights/05 days

Day01. Take a drive from Muangkhoa to Ban Sinxai, then start walking up to Ban Houypod( Akha Pouly Noy ), stop over here for lunch. Then continue walking to Ban Yaloh. Overnight there

Day02. Continue trekking to Ban Tanloh and Ban Lahang Noy and overnight

Day03. Continue trekking to Ban Kiawkam. Overnight

Day04. trekking from Ban Kiawkam to Ban Kokngiaw and Ban Seneyang. Overnight

Day05. Trekking from Ban Seneyang to Ban Latzang, then take a van to Muangkhoa for overnight

 

 

Program:  04 days trekking

Day01. Take a drive from Ban Sinxay, then trekking to Ban Pakha, Ban Saboh. Overnight

 

Day02. Trekking from Ban Saboh to Ban Chalakao and Ban Lahang noy. Overnight

Day03. Continue trekking to Ban Nambonnuea and Ban Mokmauy. Overnight

Day04. Continue trekking to Ban Nambontai and Ban Latzang, then take a drive to Udomxai

Trek to National biodiversity area

Luangnamtha Province

 

Luangnamtha is one of the northern province in Laos, there are different group of tribe such as: Taileu, Taidam, Akha, Mhong, Yao, Khmu, Lantan..

Ban Pieng Ngam 1 day

Difficulty: easy

Duration: 4-5 hours

Highlights:

  • During your trek, you will be meeting with, and experiencing the life of the traditional Tai Dam, Tai Daeng and Akha villagers
  • Good views

 

Short description:

This trek takes you through the rice fields of Luang Namtha and into the forested foothills beyond. A reasonable gentle day’s walk, the trail passes through the villages of Ban Kone, Ban Nam Hoi, Ban Pieng Ngam and Ban Nam Ngean. As well as learning about the lifestyles of these different communities, trekkers have the opportunity to witness traditional agricultural practices, community forest use, sericulture and silk weaving and also the distilling of Lao Rice whiskey. A typical regional lunch is eaten with some of the villagers in Ban Pieng Ngam. The trek ends with a visit to Ban Nam Ngean and the Pom Pouk Stupa, before trekkers return to Luang Namtha.

Ban Chaleunsouk 1 day

Difficulty: moderate

Duration: 5-6 hours

Highlights:

  • Good views of the Namha Protected Area (NPA)

Short description:

The trek starts in Ban Nam Lue, a Lanten village with a traditional ‘Village Museum’, where you can purchase and observe making, local made handicrafts. The trek takes you through the rice fields and gardens of Ban Nam Lue and into the forested foothills beyond. It follows an old trail through secondary forests, which leads up and down the mountain slopes. From the peaks of the mountains, you have a good view of the nearby NPA area. Lunch will be eaten in the old forest with a good view over the surrounding hilly country. The trek ends after arriving in Ban Chaleunsouk, a Khmu tribe village along the A3 highway.

Ban Nammat 2 days

Difficulty: easy

Duration: First day 4-5 hours, second day 4-5 hours

Short description:

This trek takes you through the rice fields of Luang Namtha and into the forested foothills beyond. The trail passes through the villages of Ban Kone, Ban Nam Hoi, Ban Pieng Ngam, Ban Nam Ngean and Ban Nammat. As well as learning about the lifestyles of these different communities, trekkers have the opportunity to witness traditional agricultural practices, community forest use, sericulture and silk weaving. Close to Ban Nam Ngean, you will be able to see the distilling of Lao Rice whiskey and enjoy a visit to the Pom Pouk Stupa.

For overnight, you stay in the village Ban Pieng Ngam, a village, famous for its woven handicrafts. The next day, the trek leads you to the Akha village, Ban Nammat. Your picnic lunch will be served at a rice hut of the Akha people. The trek passes some slash and burned parts of the forest, and crosses some small rivers, before trekkers return to Luang Namtha.

Ban Nalan 2 days

Difficulty: easy – moderate

Duration: First day 4-5 hours, second day 5-6 hours

  • Nam Ha River, where you can enjoy a nice cooling dip
  • Spectacular views of the Namtha Valley and the NPA

Short description:

This 2-day trek begins at Ban Chaleunsouk, a village of Khmu people. The trail winds through forests and upland rice fields and offers great views, overnight in a Khmu tribe village, called Ban Nalan.

Early morning on the second day, offers a pleasant walk following the Nam Ha River, here the old forest with a dense canopy varies from stands of large hardwoods to new growth of bamboo. From the top of a ridge, there are spectacular views to the north with Luang Namtha visible in the distance. The trail ends at the Lanten village of Ban Nam Lue, where trekkers can purchase local handicrafts at the local ‘village museum’.

Ban Sam Yord 3 days

Duration: First day 4 hours, second day 6 hours, third day 5-6 hours

Short description:

Start your trek at the multi-ethnic village of Ban Kok Mee (Sida, Phounoi, Hmong, Khmu & other ethnic groups). Here, you walk through rubber tree plantations, mountain rice fields and community forests to the top of the Sam Yord Mountain (three Peak Mountain). Stay overnight in the Sam Yord village (Hmong Ethnic Group) and enjoy the tranquility of this secluded spot. Journey deep in to the thick and dense forests of Sam Yord Mountain. Descend to the beautiful valley and rice fields of Nam Talan village (Khmu and Lanten Ethnic groups). Overnight in traditional Khmu accommodation and savor the flavors of Khmu cooking, during the second night. On the third day, continue trekking along the mountain slopes and you will finish your trek after arriving in Ban Sopsim (Khmu tribe).

Overnight in traditional Khmu accommodation and savor the flavors of Khmu cooking, during the third night. On the last day, continue trekking along the mountain slopes and you will finish your trek after arriving in Ban Sopsim (Khmu tribe).
